About The Digital School

The Digital School is a global digital education initiative launched in 2020 by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives to provide flexible, high-quality online learning for underserved communities worldwide.

Our Mission

Drive the frontiers of digital learning to empower underserved communities towards a brighter future.

The Digital School, is the first integrated digitally enabled school which provides digital and hybrid learning in a smart and flexible way. It provides learning models, processes and material that are compatible with national and international curriculum.

The Digital School is charting new global milestones for the future of digital education for those who need it most. The knowledge, experience and state-of-the-art systems that have proven their effectiveness will be integrated into a vision and approach that contributes to expanding learning opportunities.

Our Vision

Provide contextualised and validated education opportunities guided by innovative digital ecosystems and partnerships to improve access and learning outcomes.

Since its establishment in November 2020, The Digital School has been guided by a bold and inspiring vision, shaped by the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, Ruler of Dubai, at its launch:

“Our goal is to bring digital learning to new horizons, as it is the education of the future and the future of education.”

TDS aims for more than just creating an online learning platform. Its mission is to design and deliver a complete model for digital education – one that serves marginalised communities around the world. This model focuses on using practical, accessible digital tools to make high-quality learning available to those who need it most.

By rethinking how education is delivered, TDS works to close the global education gap and ensure that every learner, regardless of their location or circumstances, has the opportunity to thrive in a digital future.

Organization Overview

A Global Movement for Digital Equity

Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Dubai, UAE, The Digital School has grown from a focused pilot program to a global organization operating across 40 countries on five continents. We work with governments, international organizations, corporations, and grassroots community groups to deliver programs that meet learners where they are.

TDS operates four flagship programs — K-12 Learning, Digital Educator Global Academy (DEGA), Donate Your Own Device (DYOD), and Skilled Academies — each addressing a different dimension of the digital education challenge. Together, they form a comprehensive ecosystem that takes learners from basic digital literacy all the way to career-ready digital skills.
