The General Command of Dubai Police has signed a memorandum of understanding with 'Digital School', one of the initiatives of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, to support digital community initiatives, including the 'Donate a Device' initiative. This aims to launch a new digital learning platform that seeks to chart new dimensions for the future of global education by leveraging modern technologies to expand educational opportunities for underserved communities worldwide. The memorandum stipulates that the two parties will coordinate their efforts in areas such as exchanging experiences and knowledge, learning about best practices in digital education, organizing lectures and workshops to highlight the importance of supporting the Digital School initiative, and using various Dubai Police channels to highlight the role of both parties in fulfilling social responsibility, in addition to promoting Dubai Police's efforts to support the Digital School through the school's media and social media channels, and issuing a 'Green Certificate' for its efforts in supporting the initiative.
The memorandum of understanding was signed by the General Command of Dubai Police, represented by Major General Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Razooqi, Director of General Operations, and Digital School, represented by Dr. Walid Al Ali, the Secretary—General of the school, on the sidelines of the 'DIHAD' exhibition held at the World Trade Center, in the presence of Colonel Ali Al Mansouri, Director of the General Directorate of Community Happiness, and his deputy, Colonel Professor Dr. Saud Al Ramithi, and senior officers and employees of both parties.
Major General Mohammed Nasser Al Razooqi emphasized that the memorandum will contribute to enhancing cooperation between the two sides in supporting community initiatives for the Digital School, which aims to elevate the level of digital education in underserved communities around the world. He also reiterated the General Command of Dubai Police's keenness to support community initiatives, acknowledging their significant impact on development and quality of life, and enhancing happiness levels in communities, praising the significant efforts made by the Digital School since its inception in elevating levels of digital education globally.
Dr. Walid Al Ali stated, "The memorandum of understanding will contribute to supporting community initiatives in the digital field, and in exchanging experiences and knowledge in areas related to quality of life and enhancing digital education levels." He added that the Digital School is based on the concept of teamwork and concerted efforts to achieve the goal of education for all, reaching education through technology tools, and its innovative smart solutions to students wherever they are and whatever their social circumstances.
He explained that the Digital School aims to achieve the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030 set by the United Nations and agreed upon by most countries and international organizations, which is to provide quality education as a basis for development and its sustainability, and that the Digital School and Dubai Police will collaborate through the Donate Your Device initiative, which works on recycling and refurbishing used devices and providing them to needy students around the world.
Colonel Ali Al Mansouri stated that participation in this initiative will contribute to enhancing humanitarian work to support needy groups around the world and provide digital education for them.
