Index Holding, through DIHAD Sustainable, has joined the "Donate Your Device" campaign — a pioneering initiative launched by The Digital School under the umbrella of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives — as part of their joint efforts to enable education in underserved communities.
This participation reflects Index Holding's strong commitment to social responsibility, education, and sustainability. Aligned with the activities of "Zero Waste Week", the company donated laptops and electronic devices to support the UAE's national efforts in environmental protection while expanding access to digital learning.
Reaffirming the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Index Holding and DIHAD Sustainable renewed their pledge to contribute to a waste—free and sustainable future. Their support has already enabled the education of 368 students while reducing over 800 kilograms of CO? emissions, a tangible impact that directly reflects this vision.
The campaign, launched by The Digital School, aims to collect, refurbish, and distribute electronic devices to disadvantaged communities, thereby reducing e—waste and expanding access to digital education for children and youth worldwide.
This contribution also highlights Index Holding's and DIHAD Sustainable's ongoing efforts to empower students in need by improving their access to digital tools and remote learning, while simultaneously advancing environmental protection.
H.E. Dr. Abdelsalam Al Madani, Chairman of DIHAD Sustainable, emphasized that education and sustainability are inseparable pillars of progress. He stated:
"By supporting the Donate Your Device' initiative, we are not only providing access to digital learning for underserved communities, but also promoting a culture of responsible reuse of electronic devices, reducing harmful e—waste that poses serious health and environmental risks."
Dr. Waleed Al Ali, Secretary General of The Digital School, praised the importance of this contribution, noting that every refurbished device is not just waste reduced but also a new opportunity for learning and knowledge for a child in need. He added:
"Through the Donate Your Device' initiative, Zero Waste Week is not only about protecting our planet, but also about empowering the next generation through education. We deeply appreciate Index Holding's generous contribution of used devices, which reflects how leading institutions in the UAE can transform sustainability principles into real opportunities for learning."
