The Digital School, one of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI), signed a 3—year strategic cooperation agreement with the Ministry of National Education and Educational System Reform of Mauritania. The agreement aims to expand the Digital School programs and support digital learning projects in Mauritania, to include 100,000 students, 1,000 teachers and develop 200 digital learning centers, marking an important milestone in the march towards developing digital education in Mauritania.
The Digital School targets providing one million students around the world with knowledge and advanced sciences over the next five years, and adopting smart practices and technologies to find innovative solutions to challenges and build a better future.
The agreement was signed remotely, in the presence of His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Digital School, and His Excellency Mohamed Maalainine Ould Eyih, Minister of National Education and Educational System Reform and the Mauritanian Government Spokesperson. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Walid Al Ali, Board Member and Secretary—General of the Digital School, Her Excellency Zainab Al Sheikh, Acting Secretary—General of the Ministry of National Education and Educational System Reform, and Al Emam Hammoud, General Coordinator of the Digital School in Mauritania.
The partnership outcomes include providing the digital education services of the "Digital School" to students in Mauritania using modern technologies and technical systems, and supporting the digital transformation of the Ministry of National Education and Educational System Reform. It further targets building and equipping digital learning halls for the benefit of 100,000 students, providing digital education material, presenting the necessary training to students and teachers and granting the latter the "Digital Teacher" license to boost their participation in the future development of Mauritania.
